About Us

Our story is one of love, land, and labor. Amidst WWII, Florence Lundgren decided it was time to answer the calling to sell their farm in Minnesota and embark on the journey of building a rustic resort with the intent of having a place where families could come to spend quality time with each other and the natural world—knowing just how needed this would be once the war was over. Having found the perfect place on a nearby lake, she lept. With the kids and her elderly parents in tow, they moved into the pre-existing farmhouse and began building the little cabins their future guests would stay in.

Fast-forward: cabins complete, war over, and White Oaks Resort flourishing exactly as manifested. A seasonal, multigenerational endeavor with each generation adding to the gardens, restoring the land, restructuring the business, modernizing when necessary (getting indoor plumbing in the ‘70s was a big freakin’ deal), and welcoming those that feel the pull to come rest, reset, and connect in nature.

Today, things look a lot different than they did in Florence’s time. We’ve become a private sanctuary in the physical, with the same families returning to our little cabins every year, as we transform the resort into a sustainable homestead, holistic wellness retreat center and establish our own Hundred Acre Wood. Yet, we found ourselves asking how we were going to bring the healing magic of this land to the wider world without compromising its (and our) well-being. Luckily, we live in a time of vast technological advancement that has allowed the latest link in the Lundgren line to solve that issue. With the birth of this new business, we now open our home, its power, and the wisdom it has allowed us to Remember to you here at White Oaks Guiding.

With a life dedicated to making the world a more sustainable and wholesome place, Asha has found herself fatefully in the facet of holistic wellness. First hearing the call to heal others when she was seven, she dropped the dream of growing up to be an otter and instead became completely set on becoming a doctor. As life went on and innocence faded, it became clear to her that nature needed a hell of a lot more help than people, and switched tactics. No longer desiring to heed the call to heal people, she spent her time learning how to heal the planet instead. But once adulthood hit, so did the realization that there is no separation between these missions, and both are needed to solve the problems we see before us. Over the past 12 years, she has been studying holistic wellness and sustainability at every level. After getting her B.A. in Religious Studies and Environmental Humanities, and a variety of certifications in herbalism, yoga, energy healing modalities, and health/life coaching, she is now the healer and sustainability coordinator at White Oaks Resort and founder of White Oaks Guiding.
